Fall trends on the cheap

Ok,  now that we have the September issues of all our favorite mags, it's time to talk about the trends.  Not only will I discuss the trends,  I will show you exactly where to get an inexpensive version that looks like a million bucks.  Here we go:

blouse Zara $89
1. Brocade- it's everywhere..too much and you will look like your grandmother's drapes, but just a touch can really rev up your style. Here are some options:

I love the look of these 3 pieces.  The peplum blouse is actually a combo of 2 trends. Peplums seem to be everywhere, on shirts, skirts, and dresses. Use them to camouflage areas of the body that are a little soft.  The dress is styled great with black tights It is season less.  Throw a black blazer over it for fall/winter, and  edge it out with black booties.  Lose the tights and blazer and wear cute wedges or metallic gladiators for spring and summer.  I've been seeing a ton of ankle length trousers lately. Use them to show off the beautiful strap of a shoe, or once again pair with trusty black booties.
pants Zara $119
dress Piperlime$69
2. Leather- it's not just  rock and roll anymore. There are some seriously sophisticated frocks around these days. I've even found some vegan choices for you animal lovers (I certainly am, I've been vegetarian my entire life).

pencil skirt and dress, Piperlime, vegan$79 & $119
mini skirt Mango $99.99
The leather mini is a tad rock and roll, and I think it would be adorable with a slouchy gray sweater, black opaque tights and preppy flats to add a girly touch. You could play naughty secretary at work with that pencil skirt, a pretty bow tie blouse, and the classic black heel. Do you see her black booties with that dress? You know how I adore them so. I would add a cashmere cardigan in any color, audnd maybe a pretty silk scarf in the hair.  Keep it simple and clean, the leather is all the statement you need.

3. Studs- I love the edginess studs add. It's also fun to pair them with something ultra feminine to balance their hard edge. I have a green Joe's Jeans purse that's hunter green leather with gunmetal studs I scored at TJ Maxx for around $40. Green is nice because it can be paired with brown or black.
clutch Nasty Gal $48
T shirt Mango $29.99
I adore this black clutch with the studded wrist band.  You have a great bag with instant jewelry. It's just too good. The T shirt is something I would wear for a night out on the town with skinny black jeans, tall black riding boots, and a black cardigan or blazer.  It would be equally cute in the summer with cut off sorts or a breezy skirt and sandals.  The motorcycle jacket is totally tough.  It needs a sassy girl to pull it off. I would wear it with anything from jeans to trousers to a floral printed dress. It rolls 2 trends into 1.

I hope you've enjoyed a peek at some fall trends. Go forth in style.
